The dive Mavericks is situated in Malongane Bay in 27 m of water. It is an extension of Malongane's deeper reef system and is an amazing dive site. It consists out of one huge boulder surrounded by scattered reef. Goldies rise above the reef to reveal the many different eels namely the Black cheek Moray, the Geometric and a massive Honey Combed Moray Eel. Pipefish, Nudibranch, Mantis Shrimp are just a few of the creatures that inhabit this beautiful reef. If you are lucky you might find the Sailfin Leaf Fish that constantly change their colors to look like the reef they are sitting on.
The Garden Eels make the ripples in the sand their home as well as the Ribbon Eel. The Powder-Blue Surgeonfish huddle around a cleaning station waiting to be groomed and can be admired from close. The reef itself is covered in beautiful hard and soft coral and in the sand you will find scattered Mushroom Coral, Cup Sponge a Spiral Coral here and there, lots of Lobed Pore Coral, and a mound or two of fine Table Coral.
